The solution I propose is the simplest one, and it works.
#LOL NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS#
Intel are aware of this issues but they haven't released a fix yet I have read that downgrading the drivers to older ones (like 6 months old) can fix the problem as well, but that can be troublesome as well. I believe the problem doesn't have anything to do with the game itself or the OS, but the Intel HD drivers not functioning properly.

It might be only certain models/brands as well. To clarify, this issue will probably happen only to some of those that bought a laptop originally with windows 8 and upgraded it to windows 8.1, and have a dual GPU system. Run all the executables in compatibility mode with windows 7/8 if that happens to you.ĮDIT: Thanks to all of you who have replied. TL DR: League of Legends is not fully compatible with some windows 8.1 features in some laptop models. I felt the need to make this post because some more might have the same issues, and it wasn't easy for me to find the answer. I did it and all the problems disappeared immediately. The thing is, the solution is very simple: just run every instances of league of legends executables (LolLauncher, LolClient and LeagueofLegends) in compatibility mode (windows 7 or 8). The reason is that several games, not only league, are not fully compatible with w8.1, so the switch system between both GPUs may fail causing the memory leaks and the eventual BSODs.
#LOL NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 10 DRIVER#
Researching further I found out that it was caused because of the dual GPU system (when your laptop has an integrated and a dedicated graphic card), more exactly the Intel HD 4000 driver going nuts. I was concerned about this, so I tried to find info about it, and there was none in the official forums but a couple of posts about memory leaks, unanswered. Sometimes, the issue would get real and the game would freeze before a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), with the message "DRIVER_IRLQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". The game was consuming all my RAM, despite having 8 GB. I bought a laptop with native W8, and when I upgraded it to W8.1, I noticed that low memory warnings started to pop up when I played league. The title pretty much sums it up, keep reading if you want further detail.
